It’s not Sunday, but I have no Indie Around the Web post for today, so I’ll do yesterday’s post today instead :-).
The weekend wrap-up from this past weekend has very little to do with writing. But since it’s not November yet, I think that’s okay.
It was a very, VERY full weekend, which began Saturday morning with Hubby going to his suit fitting to get his suit ready for a big sales meeting he has coming up. Immediately following that, I did some shopping with my mom just for fun (which doesn’t happen often enough), and then we all took the kids to a pumpkin farm for the majority of the second half of the day. The three oldest kids did the 8 acre corn maze with their dad, and my mom and I took the two Littles into the kids area, where they spent the entire time in the GIANT wooden box of corn. (Apparently it’s a midwest thing this year.) My brother and his GF and my 21-month-old nephew joined us, and we all had cider and cookies, walked around a little orchard section, and then went on a hay ride. At home, we had a little “scary movie” night, starting off with “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” with the Littles. JD left us for a little while for a youth group activity, and during that time, we put the Littles to bed and watched “Goosebumps” with Mini-Me and Peanut, while they enjoyed popcorn and hot chocolate. Then the Peanut went to bed, JD came home, and the two oldest stayed up with us to watch a sort of thriller/mystery/suspense movie that we had found on Netflix. The kids love the thrill of scary movies, meaning the kind that startle you or are suspenseful and mysterious (I don’t let them watch anything with gore or killing, etc.). I don’t care for anything too scary either.
Sunday was an equally busy day; I had to be at church two hours early for choir rehearsal, then had to stay through two services, as we sang at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of each service. I took two kiddos with me, and hubby brought the other three to the early service. By the time the girls and I got home, I was ready to fall over. Lunch for all and naps/quiet time for kiddos, and then I was off again for handbell practice. I always get home from that just in time to make supper (always snacks on Sunday night – phew!) Next Sunday should be equally busy, as the handbells are playing for those services.
Hope everyone else had a great weekend – and maybe a little less busy than mine!
