“Setting the Scene” – SoCS 1/31/15

This week’s prompt is “scene/seen.”  You’ll see my contribution of the prompt only in the title.  You may not even understand the reference; but I guess it’s only important that it’s meaningful to me.  (Yeah, I went there.  No offense.)

I also decided to try something new.  It just sort of came to me as I was writing this poem, and it practically created itself.  See if you notice.  Bonus points to the first person who figures it out.

She was 26 and
                                    I was 24:
And if things had been
I’d been less
Was I not
Had we met under alternate
the original purpose didn’t

We might have been
                              the best of friends
Or we might never
                              have met.

This was written for Linda G. Hill’s weekly SoCS challenge.

Maybe we need a hint. Is it something new in the poem? Or on your blog in general?
