Flash Friday – Happy Dances

We are all doing a little happy dance over here.

The hubster is coming home this afternoon after being gone all week on a business trip!  I just spoke to him for a few minutes before he had to board his second plane.  We will be leaving in just a couple of hours to go pick him up at the airport.

Other personal happy dances from this week:

I took advantage of the fact that I desperately needed to distract myself this week, and got several organizational projects done.  None of them, of course, were on my “list,” but they were things that needed done, nonetheless.  I also got a little decorational craft half done; I’m hoping to finish that in the next couple of days so that I can put it up on the living room wall.

For my last project of the day, I turned both of the Bugs’ cribs into toddler beds.  Some may think this is awfully late (they are just over 3 years); but if you are a parent, you know that each parent knows their children’s needs better than anyone else, and our Littles just weren’t ready yet.  Ladybug is definitely ready now, and I do not believe there will be an issue with her getting out of bed.  I’m slightly concerned about Bug, but he seems to like the “new” bed so much that maybe it won’t be as bad as I’m worried it will be – at least after the first night or two ;-).

Next up – another attempt at potty training!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to get together for lunch with someone that I have been wanting to get to know better since she and her husband moved here just over two years ago.  I’m really glad we finally had the chance to get together.  I’m hoping it will become a good friendship; visiting with her wasn’t as difficult as I imagined it would be (I am INFJ, remember 😉 ).  I haven’t made a (non-online) friend my age since college, and I haven’t had one geographically close since high school!

Finally, an update on my homeopathic weight loss journey:  two weeks in and I have lost 12 pounds!  I’m pretty excited about that, given that my undetected thyroid problem (among other health issues) has made it nearly impossible for me to lose weight in the past several years.  I was considering ordering our favorite pizza for dinner tonight to celebrate the return of my man, but now I’m feeling so good about my success that I don’t want anything to stall further success!

Happy Friday, and Happy Weekend!  😀

Thank you! It has been a very long week for me.

The least easy thing about this eating plan (I hate the word ‘diet’) is that I have very few food choices. It’s an anti-inflammatory diet, so the range is limited, and I’m a vegetarian, so it’s limited even further. But, sticking with it has proven to be worth it :-).

Happy weekend to you as well!
