It’s been a busy summer so far, and though it’s always a goal for me to write more regularly, the blog is one of those things that continually gets placed on the back burner, thanks to kids, homeschooling, family adventures, novel writing, and editing.
We had some family visiting at the end of June / beginning of July, and the kids and I took a trip last week to visit family out of state. The in-between has been filled with a major landscaping project (we finally have a WHOLE backyard!) and the typical wonderful chaos that comes with kiddos and home management.
On the writing front, I’ve made some good headway on Kendall’s Story, part of which includes a re-read of Emma’s Story in order to get to know the inner workings of Kendall’s mind a little better. I feel very much at home in Kendall and Emma’s world, which makes the writing process go much more smoothly.
For the first time in longer than I can remember, I also started reading a new book, Serafina and the Black Cloak. It will be slow going, as reading is for me these days, but so far I’m enjoying it.
How are my fellow readers and writers faring? How have your summers been going so far? Are you reading anything new or interesting? Writing anything new or working on any projects already in process?
