The music of my 2015 characters.
I know you’ve been wondering.
And it won’t be meaningful if you don’t get to know them a little bit.
Amara is the star of the Palingenesis series. Book One is currently in process. Because this series is a fantasy series, it seemed only fitting to focus on music from fantasy settings when choosing her music, and who better to start with than John Williams? It wasn’t too difficult to go from there. Her playlist has a variety of music from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and quite a few individual songs from John’s vast repertoire.
Delaney is the central character of the novel I started last week (which has no title yet). I wasn’t sure where to start with her music. Her story is unique, and she requires a very specific sound. Then while listening to some LOTR music to try to get a feel for Delaney’s music taste, I remembered a song I’d once heard (okay, more than once…) called Arwen’s Vigil, by the Piano Guys. Of course it didn’t take me long to drag up that album, and it was only a matter of time before realizing that the Piano Guys themselves are Delaney’s sound.
And there’s nothing better than listening to ALL of the Piano Guys albums while writing, and just snagging the ones that jump out at you.
